camp entry (pt 1)

its been a long time since i blogged...
approximately one week i guess...

well.. guess many of you didnt make it to camp
or at least the penang one..

let me blog.. abt wad happen to me in camp...

SUNDAY

it started off at 09:00pm at CCK building... and
lasted for 12 hours.. a LONG journey to penng...
i did not manage to sleep much due to the NOISE
that the younger ones made throughout the journey...
sighs.. it was horrible for me.. as i haf not been sleeping
well for the past few days (and nights).

but as i sat there in the bus, i begin to look up to the sky
and saw something that i CAN NEVER see in Singapore.

A night sky covered with stars.
it was SOOOO beautiful....

and i realised i forgot the camera .. darn

and so ended sunday. and started the next day.

MONDAY

reached there, sleepy eyed, at around 7am in the morning.
had breakfast of eggs, yucky rice, bee hoon and fruits.

set up some equipment before Gabriel came by from the rooms...
went to disturb Col, whom we thought was sleeping but was
studying....

being bored.. we headed to some steep rocks a distance away from
the hotel and begin to fish. actually Gabriel fished while i sat there
looking and giving suggestions that didnt really matter...=P

after a call from Peter Lim... ahem sorry... Esther Foong...
we headed to the lobby to get a ride to Midland Shopping Complex..

they bought some stuff while i followed em around.. gave suggestions
and some comments abt their shoes, clothes and blah blah blah...

had tim sum, during which i found out Gabriel cant eat much..

then headed back to hotel for orientation, dinner and session

Jerry Davis was preaching...about Benefits (Psalms 103:1-6)
not bad a sermon.. in fact it touched my heart. being a Christian
for so long, i tend to know the "rules" of being a "VFC Christian..."
but i hardly think about the benefits of being a Christian

after session, went to Col's room to play heart attack v.2 with
the gang (esther, col, gab, me, quixia, dawn, jerina)
and also crapped till pretty late...

went to slp ard 1 plus...

TUESDAY

woked up with <> on my ipod...at 6.15am..
did my normal routine of washing up and headed downstairs for
breakfast. had breakfast with the duty meal personnel and uncle boyle
. they were kinda surprised to see me so early in the morning..coz
so far, they do not know of any Youths who would wake up so early..
hahaha.. after explaining that i wake up on normal school days at 4.45am
and weekends at 6am... questions stopped.

breakfast, setup and sermon... same as before...

played bananaboat during free time and i managed not to capsize with the rest
hahaha... had a game of volleyball...

and then it happened..

the region F singles ministry grp went out banana boating.. and capsized.
it was really fun to capsize i guess, till a gal got stung by jellyfish.

jellyfish sting with a venom of tenacious nature. it causes burning sensations,
and instant rashes. soon the venom would numb the area as it travels up the
bloodstream. if not treated soon enough, the venom wld travel up the heart and
cause the same effect as alchol on the heart... a heart attack.

the gal was lucky in fact, to have her BF with her.. the guy actually went by her,
kicked away the jellyfish and pushed it away, in order to prevent harm to her.
But in doing so, he got multiple stings everywhere...

when they reached back to the shore, winds begin to whip up. the winds were so strong.
enough to push tables and chairs... the sea was churning and whipping the shores so
strongly that people were herded inside.

as i walked into the safety of the lobby, i remembered the guy who got stung.. and
my bro. they were NOT with me...

ignoring all instructions to stay in the shelter, i headed back out to find them.

it was really an effort. got cut and hit by flying stuff... but i manage to find my bro
and the guy.

helped the guy to the lobby and prayed for him.. man.. those malays were staring ..
but i didnt care.. its my friend who got stung...and only God can help.

the guy and gal went to haf a checkup and a jab.. and they were ok.. thank God..

session resumed after that.. with supper at a market 500m from the hotel...
